Honestly, I didn’t think much of it, until a few hours later it was repeated.

“You both are so nice!” The sentiment echoed through the evening and into the next day without so much as either on of us thinking about it.

Which made we wonder, what happened? Have we become so jaded, thanks in large part to social media, political biases, and previous years of social distancing that we’ve forgotten how to smile or just be nice?

I’d like to think our kindness is the rule, and not the exception. But perhaps I’m mistaken.

Whatever the case may be, if you can, be nice. Kindness and understanding go further than you. And who knows? Your intentional smile or polite way of noticing someone could brighten their day.

So, be nice.
