I’m struggling. Finding adequate words to articulate both my love of Jesus and carrying out His love for other people.
Because words? They carry power, even when I think that they don’t. When we misuse them, like swinging a hammer instead of turning a wrench, we can cause serious damage.
That’s why we must do better. We need to show others how to behave. Instead of preaching about acting like Jesus, act like He did. “They will know us by our love” (John 13:35).
But how?
What love are we demonstrating?
How are we highlighting God’s love when we attack others with our actions and words?
How is it loving when we dismiss opinions and feelings instead of actively listening to others we disagree with?
Me? I want to get better at this. So instead of raging about things I cannot control, I will stand up and love others right where I am. If I can help? I will. Look for my example in real life. Not just my words on a screen.
Because in the end? Love always wins. Not arguments. Not being right. Not being the last one standing.
Love?
Love wins.

Today I choose love, over being right. I choose listening over lecturing. I choose serving over standing on my soap box.
What will you choose?
