Yesterday, I wrote a blog post that upset people. I got a community guideline violation on Nextdoor for my post, ‘Stop Being So Judgey.’ The violation? “No racism, hateful language, or discrimination of any kind is tolerated on Nextdoor.”
I would like to apologize to those who found the post hateful or discriminatory. That post was intended to bring to light exactly what the post was found guilty of violating: discrimination. Judging others turns ugly fast. That’s what the whole post was all about.
Leaders own their mistakes and do not hide from their abhorrent behavior. Instead, they own it, make amends, and move forward.
I will be more attentive to the Nextdoor audience in my future posts, and you can rest assured that I will continue to own my mistakes when they are made because I can guarantee I will make more!
In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy the posts.
Take good care!
